We are pleased and proud to announce that DesignMap’s new office at 700 Alabama Street, right in the heart of the Inner Mission, is officially open for business. We now occupy the entire ground floor of a two story brick and timber building, which offers all the space we need for our expanding design practice.
This is our third official move—fourth if you count our first “home office” incarnation. This time around was no cakewalk, which is why we’re so thrilled to be sending out this news. Finding an office space in San Francisco’s tight and competitive commercial real estate market was time consuming and, at times, discouraging. With the help of our realtor at Cushman Wakefield, we scoured the city, touring dozens and dozens of spaces before we found the right spot.
But finding the space was only half the battle. The building needed some serious love before we could move in. We took advantage of the opportunity and decided to go all out, hiring Gensler Architects to design a really great space for our twenty designers, our clients and partners. Gensler listened to what we wanted and came back with a beautiful, clean design.
We had amazing partners for financing and building out the design. Wells Fargo’s Small Business team created a financial strategy to underwrite the project. And in just six short weeks, Principal Builders completed the renovation on time and under budget, exceeding all our expectations.
We’re thrilled to be settling in thanks to the efforts of Cushman Wakefield, Wells Fargo, Gensler and Principal Builders.
And finally we’d like to send out a special thank you to some of our current clients, listed below, who give us reason to need all this space!
